Probation and Aftercare Service held a National Workshop to develop the PACS Data Collection System from 4th to 7th November 2019 in Naivasha, Nakuru County. The workshop, which was the first of its kind in the region was aimed at developing a comprehensive framework based on the International Classification of Crime for Statistical Purposes (ICCS) for capturing data and statistics on crime and criminal justice.

The workshop drew participation from National Council of the Administration of Justice (NCAJ), Probation and Aftercare Service (PACS), National Crime Research Centre (NCRC), Kenya Prisons Service (KPS) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

During the workshop, current Data Collections Tools were reviewed in a bid to harmonise data elements across the justice system in Kenya. The workshop was held with technical assistance from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) under the Programme for Legal Empowerment and Aid Delivery in Kenya (PLEAD).
